Bessie's 2nd Birthday

On Saturday, October 30th we had a big bon fire to celebrate Bessie's 2nd birthday. It was great having some of our best friends and neighbors over, but things were so hectic that we never got around to opening Bessie's presents. We got around to it on Sunday.

At first Bessie was oblivious.



















But she started dancing as soon as we started singing.





























































Bessie managed to blow out her candles with a little help from Papa.














All the presents was a bit overwhelming. Some of them are far larger than Bessie.














Bessie especially liked a toy from Kristin and Darren. I'm not so sure how happy I am about that. While the toy promotes manual dexterity, it's sort of loud. You can see the wood mallet just to the left.



















Bessie also loved the blue sandals she got from Aunty Eva.














Other toys she was not so crazy about. You can see me in the background struggling to release a Dora doll from its packaging. When I finally got it out and presented it to Bessie, all she said was, "No."
